Houda Bakkali presents her new artwork “The Happiness” at the Alliance Française Mérida, Mexico. This work, which fuses digital, physical and virtual art, is an immersive version that the public can enjoy through augmented reality. The exhibition will also have an educational focus on the uses and benefits of digital art in creative spaces and beyond.
“I am very happy and grateful to the Alianza Francesa de Mérida for their love and welcome to my work. On this occasion I am showing a new work that the public can enjoy in different versions, the best way to learn and connect with digital art and its versatility. This is the best way to get to know digital art and its versatility, to get to know its tools and to get closer to some of the motivations of my art, which focuses on female power and beauty, in hopeful, optimistic messages, looking to the future without forgetting its heritage, trying to fill people with enthusiasm and joy. A tribute to the happiness inspired by my muse, my mother, because there is nothing more beautiful than honouring a mother”. Houda Bakkali
In this exhibition, Bakkali once again combines art and creativity with informative content about the challenges of digital art beyond the artistic work, evaluating its uses, benefits and opportunities, as well as the power that new technologies have to democratise art, bringing it closer to the public, breaking down spatial, temporal and generational barriers, making it understandable, accessible, creating spaces that enrich the physical canvas, that go beyond it, creating messages that combine entertainment and information, created so that the public can immerse themselves, enjoy and experiment with each work in different ways.
