The Alliance Française of Cali, Colombia hosted the Gli+ch Night Gatherings, an initiative of the Colectivo Lóbulo Frontal and the Alliance Française of Cali, which is the culmination of the cultural events and gatherings promoted by both organizations in the Colombian city, together with local and international creatives. The event has brought together the artists who have been involved in this project over the last two years. It will also feature musical performances, projections, debates and interventions.
Houda Bakkali presented “The art that is seen”, an audiovisual and interactive projection that invites visitors to learn about the versatility of digital art through its animations and immersive spaces.
Augmented reality connects with the viewer through an illusion and the recreation of multidisciplinary scenarios where creativity and information merge, the most dynamic art with a more conceptual and contemplative vision in its own physical space. An art that accompanies the word and invites reflection. Technology becomes a tool to connect with the audience, inviting them to become part of the scene through joy and fun.
Bakkali has created this symbolic piece to mark the end of the creative cycles and gatherings of the Alliance Française of Cali and the Colectivo Lóbulo Frontal, the most recognized artistic creation, performing and digital arts laboratory in Cali and one of the greatest representatives of new cultural trends in Colombia.
The event also pays tribute to the artists who have participated in the cultural meetings of the Colectivo Lóbulo Frontal and the Alliance Française of Cali over the last two years, as well as to cultural, creative and artistic diversity as the best form of union, inspiration, freedom and respect between societies.
“The art that brings us closer from a distance is a generous art. An art in which we share our way of doing and feeling. Our vision of reality and our imagination without limits. This is the limitless power of art and this is the generosity of the hosts who make this meeting of talent and creativity from all over the world possible. My sincere thanks to the French Alliance Française of Cali and Colectivo Lóbulo Frontal for their invitation and their love. It is an honor to be part of this meeting.” Bakkali comments.
The piece shown by Houda Bakkali was the “Duality of Art”, a work that has been exhibited at the Alliance Française of Cali and Cartagena de Indias in Colombia and in which seeks to symbolize the power of art to unite the homogeneous and the heterogeneous, creating a perfect circle of colors and voluptuous shapes, in a strong tribute to beauty and the female figure, which merges with nature through the versatility of the most avant-garde technology, thus combining the future and the legacy. During the presentation, the audience also experimented the immersive augmented reality of Bakkali’s masterpiece.
