Houda Bakkali presents “Soria, new technologies and digital art”

Houda Bakkali presents “Soria: new technologies and digital art”, a multidisciplinary project focuses on digital art and new technologies as tools for training, information and entertainment. The presentation will be on December 1, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at the Parador de Soria.

“Soria: new technologies and digital art” takes art beyond art, seeing in digital tools and technologies the possibility of creating new spaces and narratives to inform, educate and entertain that transcend theoretical discourses and contemplative projects, seeking the practicality and usefulness. Creating messages with impact, transferring information and content from any area of reality and any discipline through an original look that manages to excite and make the message remembered, that invites action, conversion and generates more participatory dynamics and durable over time, capable of growing.

The project places special emphasis on the use of artificial intelligence, augmented reality, the metaverse and immersive spaces, as well as Web3. Technologies that are increasingly common in cultural, tourism, educational, medical, sports, etc. sectors. “Soria: new technologies and digital art” analyzes the uses of these tools, their creative process, their economic impact and their practical application in the artistic, cultural, touristic legacy, etc.

“New technologies such as artificial intelligence or virtual environments represent a revolution in many ways, they make us leave our comfort zones, they introduce new agents into work and social settings, they open the mind to new ways of producing, they give way to new concepts and productive models that seek to create more than theorize, generate wealth, diversify the cultural offer without spatial or temporal limitations, invite us to have a more ambitious and competitive vision. It is not about changing what we have but about having the ability to broaden our vision, opening ourselves to new ways of doing things, in every sense. Balance what already works for us with all the potential of a technological future that is already here. The new technologies, which today generate so many and diverse headlines, are here to stay with us and to continue growing. We have created these technologies, we are introducing them into all areas of our lives and we are the ones who decide to what degree we coexist with them. There are many challenges, opportunities and discussions about these new ecosystems in which art and creativity take on a special role,” says Houda Bakkali.

Soria through digital art

In addition to this presentation, Bakkali will give a cycle of theoretical-practical workshops and immersive samples on new technologies and digital art. A project created with the collaboration of the Soria Provincial Council and that will begin in the month of December, forming part of the cultural offer of different town councils. The purpose of this innovative proposal is to bring digital art and the use of these new technologies closer through an inclusive, multidisciplinary and informative proposal open to all people of all ages who are interested in these new ecosystems and see how art takes on usefulness far beyond art.
